Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday expressed confidence in the BJP forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh joined BJP candidate Satish Sharma in a roadshow in the Billawar Assembly segment of Kathua district.

Filing of nomination papers for 40 seats, set for the third and final phase of Assembly elections on October 1, is underway. The deadline for filing nominations is September 12.

Sharma submitted his nomination papers alongside the Union minister, while hundreds of BJP supporters participated in the roadshow, chanting slogans in favor of the party. "BJP is garnering support from every section of society across J&K. The BJP will form its next government with a full majority," Singh stated.

Singh criticized the Congress for neglecting the Billawar and Basholi regions and assured district status upgrades once the BJP comes to power in the Union Territory.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy accompanied former SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat, who filed his nomination from the Akhnoor Assembly segment of Jammu. Bhagat recently retired voluntarily to join the BJP.

"There is a strong wave in favor of the BJP," Reddy said, urging party workers to inform the public about the Modi government's welfare schemes and development projects.

BJP MP and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur accompanied candidate N S Raina from R S Pura South to submit his nomination. "This time, the BJP will form a government on its own in J&K, as the Modi government ended separatism and terrorism by abrogating Article 370 in 2019," Thakur insisted.

Thakur emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and urged party workers to promote Modi's developmental works in every household.

Thakur reminded supporters that the BJP had promised the abrogation of Article 370, a promise it kept, and assured that future promises would also be fulfilled.

BJP candidate R S Pathania from Udhampur East filed his nomination papers after a 'show of strength' procession. Meanwhile, the party faced internal rebellion in Udhampur, with state vice president Pawan Khajuria leading the opposition against Pathania's nomination.

In Samba district, BJP candidate Devender Manyal, accompanied by MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, also submitted his nomination papers to the returning officer.
