The BJP's membership has surged past two crore in just eight days following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's launch of a nationwide membership drive, according to party officials on Tuesday during a meeting at headquarters.

Notable participants in the meeting to review the drive's progress included BJP president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and party national general secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh. Modi had started the membership initiative on September 2, enrolling as the first member in the presence of top party leaders and various Union ministers.

The BJP conducts this drive every six years to renew existing memberships and enroll new members, adhering to its constitution. Party national general secretary Vinod Tawde announced that under the 'Sangathan Parva,' the BJP's membership had surpassed two crores within the first eight days. Ongoing meetings, led by senior leaders, are focused on making the drive more inclusive and successful in meeting the expectations set by the prime minister.
