The Congress party has leveled serious allegations against the ruling BJP following a car accident involving Sanket Bawankule, son of Maharashtra BJP Chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The incident led to the arrest of the driver after the vehicle struck multiple cars in Nagpur, injuring at least two individuals.
Vijay Wadettiwar, Leader of Opposition in the assembly, called for a thorough investigation, including scrutiny of CCTV footage from the restaurant that Sanket and his friends visited prior to the early morning crash on Monday.
Wadettiwar criticized the emerging trend of political figures shielding those responsible for such accidents by shifting blame onto their drivers. He cited previous incidents involving local political figures and accused the BJP leader's son of orchestrating a cover-up by delaying his return to avoid alcohol testing.
