The BJP has issued strong rebukes against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent comments on the Sikh community during his visit to the United States. The ruling party accuses Gandhi of fostering a 'dangerous narrative' by publicly addressing 'sensitive issues' outside India.

Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri labeled Gandhi's statements as 'sinister,' claiming they spread falsehoods within the Sikh diaspora and undermine India's legal and electoral systems. Puri referenced the 1984 anti-Sikh riots as the last instance of severe insecurity and existential threat faced by the Sikh community, attributing it to the Congress-led government of that time.

Gandhi's allegations about the RSS and religious discrimination were dismissed by Puri, who accused the Congress leader of attempting to alienate Sikhs and create discord. Puri affirmed the BJP's commitment to addressing Sikh issues, citing examples like the Kartarpur Sahib corridor initiative, and criticized Gandhi for damaging India's image abroad.
