In a scathing critique, senior BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi condemned the Trinamool Congress over its handling of a sensational rape and murder case of a doctor at RG Kar hospital in West Bengal.
The condemnation followed a letter from TMC MP Jawhar Sircar to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, where Sircar voiced his intention to resign from Rajya Sabha and retire from politics. He expressed profound disillusionment with the state government, accusing it of being unconcerned with corruption and the strong-arm tactics of certain leaders.
Trivedi highlighted that discontent is rising within the TMC ranks itself, with criticisms coming from senior leaders like Sircar and Sukendu Shekhar Roy. Trivedi emphasized that despite the government's efforts to downplay the incident, there is mounting pressure from both inside and outside the party.
