Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, accompanied by cabinet colleagues and assembly speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, met Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Sunday to present a memorandum. The Raj Bhavan confirmed the meeting in a statement.

Joined by over 20 MLAs, the delegation arrived at Raj Bhavan around 11 AM, and the discussions lasted for approximately an hour. The meeting took place against the backdrop of renewed violence in the state, leading to the deaths of at least five individuals.

The details of the memorandum were not disclosed by the Raj Bhavan. This meeting followed an earlier briefing by the chief minister on Saturday about the escalating situation. The violence in Jiribam, a region previously untouched by ethnic clashes, has caused mass displacements and fatalities, including the murder of a 59-year-old man and the death of a CRPF jawan in mid-July.
