Congress's alliance negotiations with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the upcoming Haryana Assembly Polls have sparked a flurry of reactions. BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli harshly criticized the potential partnership, attributing both parties' governance models to corruption and loot. Badoli remarked, 'They have signed agreements earlier as well. Both have a similar model of governance which revolves around loot and corruption. Congress has always worked to weaken democracy.' The BJP leader added that national leadership would soon decide on candidates.

In a statement revealing the ongoing alliance talks, AICC in-charge of Haryana Deepak Babaria noted that beyond AAP, other INDIA bloc partners, such as the Communist Party of India (CPIM) and the Samajwadi Party, have also expressed interest in joining forces for the state elections. 'Currently we are speaking to the Aam Aadmi Party. One or two other parties have also approached, we will respond in a day or two. CPI(M) and the Samajwadi Party approached us. They are expecting a very small number. They want to make their presence felt in the state,' Babaria stated.

Sources indicate that Rahul Gandhi sought input from Haryana Congress leaders regarding the feasibility of an alliance with AAP during a meeting of the party's Central Election Committee (CEC) in Delhi on Monday. Meanwhile, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal declared that his party intends to contest all 90 seats in Haryana independently. The assembly elections in Haryana are scheduled for a single phase on October 5, with the vote count set for October 8.
