The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has set an ambitious target of enrolling 2 crore primary members in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Senior party leader CR Paatil disclosed the target at a membership drive event in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state BJP president CR Paatil renewed their memberships at the event, signaling robust support for the initiative. The drive follows PM Modi's call to BJP members in Delhi to expand the party and improve women's representation in legislatures.
Paatil stressed the importance of enrolling women and members who haven't renewed their memberships. He highlighted that BJP's performance in the previous Lok Sabha elections was below expectations but emphasized the need for a strong organization to win future elections.
