Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Brunei, marking the commencement of his two-nation trip aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. This visit is significant as it is the first time an Indian Prime Minister has made a bilateral visit to Brunei.

Upon arrival, Modi was warmly received by Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah at the airport, where he also received a guard of honour. Modi expressed his anticipation for discussions with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and other royal family members to elevate the historical relationship between India and Brunei.

During this trip, Modi will focus on boosting cooperation in various sectors, including defense, trade, energy, and people-to-people exchanges. Following Brunei, he is set to travel to Singapore to meet with key leaders and business community members, further solidifying India's partnerships in the ASEAN region.
