Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will address two public rallies in Ramban and Anantnag districts on Wednesday, marking the start of the Congress' campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls. This election is notably the first in a decade and since the abrogation of Article 370.

The rallies, scheduled for September 18, are part of the Congress' efforts to support its candidates in the first phase of the elections. High-profile figures including Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are also among the 40 star campaigners for the party.

Rahul Gandhi will first head to Ramban to back Vikar Rasool Wani and later travel to Anantnag to support Congress General Secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir. The Congress has formed an alliance with the National Conference for these elections, significantly impacting poll dynamics in the state.
