The Congress' Central Election Committee met in Delhi on Monday to finalize candidates for Haryana's assembly elections, approving 34 names out of a presented list of 49. The remaining names will be reviewed soon.
According to Deepak Babaria, the AICC in-charge of Haryana, candidates were chosen based on winnability criteria, with reports confirming the inclusion of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
The Election Commission has rescheduled Haryana's poll date to October 5, taking into consideration the Bishnoi community's centuries-old festival, with vote counting set for October 8.
