India's newly appointed ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, met Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard Verma, in a bid to strengthen the Indo-US strategic partnership. The meeting took place ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's forthcoming visit to New York, where he will address the UN General Assembly.
Kwatra, who took charge on August 12, engaged in discussions with Verma just a week after the latter's visit to India, where he met with multiple Indian leaders, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
In a bid to uphold transparent communication, both officials posted updates about their meeting on X. Verma welcomed Kwatra in his new role, expressing anticipation for collaborative efforts to enhance the US-India relationship. Meanwhile, Kwatra expressed his pleasure in meeting Verma and continuing dialogue on strengthening bilateral ties.
