Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday took a critical stance against the BJP, asserting that his administration's comprehensive welfare programs overshadowed the BJP's two-decade governance. The chief minister underscored the provision of pensions to over 40 lakh beneficiaries, contrasting with the BJP's 15 lakh over 20 years.

In Kolhan division, Soren launched the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana and announced that the coalition government is contemplating waiving old electricity bills. He highlighted previous waivers such as farmers' loans up to Rs 2 lakh, noting ongoing efforts to provide up to 200 units of free electricity.

Soren accused the BJP of communal antagonism and misusing central agencies to target him. He vowed that Jharkhand would remain resilient and fight for its rights, referencing a Supreme Court ruling on coal royalties from the Union government. He assured that if re-elected, his government would increase pensions significantly.
