In a politically charged atmosphere, senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has leveled serious allegations against the West Bengal government ahead of a planned student march to the state secretariat. The march, set for August 27, aims to demand justice for a woman doctor who was raped and murdered.

Adhikari, who serves as the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, accused the Mamata Banerjee-led administration of employing underhanded tactics to divert attention from the rally. He claimed that the police were spreading false information on social media to deter protestors.

'Mamata Police is using a sinister 'toolkit' to redirect protestors away from Nabanna,' Adhikari said in a post on X, adding that the state government is under pressure due to rising public support for the 'Nabanna Abhijaan.' He also presented a list of alleged fake social media profiles supposedly created to spread misinformation.
