Police in Jharkhand deployed tear gas and water cannons to disperse Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) protesters who breached barricades during a rally against the Hemant Soren government. The rally, aiming to highlight the administration's 'injustices' and unfulfilled promises, escalated into a conflict, injuring several attendees.

BJP leaders, including Amar Kumar Bauri and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, vehemently criticized the police action, describing it as an attempt to 'silence' dissent ahead of the elections. They emphasized that the public's frustration with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition is growing, predicting its imminent downfall.

Authorities enforced Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, banning public gatherings within a 500-meter radius of the Morabadi Ground. This move came amidst concerns over potential disruptions to public order and government operations, further inflaming the tensions between the state's administration and the opposition party.
