The opposition BRS in Telangana escalated their campaign on Thursday, orchestrating protests across the state to demand the Congress government's unconditional implementation of a farm loan waiver scheme.
As part of the agitation, BRS leaders and supporters mobilized rallies, staged dharnas, and voiced slogans in various locations, insisting on the fulfillment of the Rs two lakh loan waiver promised to farmers without any stipulations.
BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, along with senior party figures such as former minister T Harish Rao, actively participated in the demonstrations, condemning Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his cabinet for what they call a betrayal on the loan waiver pledge. They claim the Congress failed to deliver on the loan waivers as promised twice before.
Concurrently, CM Reddy, joined by his ministerial colleagues and Congress leaders, participated in a dharna demanding SEBI chief Madhabi Buch's resignation and a Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation into the Adani issue. He labeled the BRS's allegations about the loan waiver as false propaganda, reassuring the public of his government's commitment to resolving their issues.
Reddy also criticized Harish Rao for allegedly staging protests without resigning from his position as MLA, while asserting that his government had already honored the Rs two lakh crop loan waiver promise.
