Himachal CM Pays Tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on 80th Birth Anniversary

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, accompanied by his cabinet colleagues and the state Congress president, paid heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 80th birth anniversary. CM Sukhu honored the late leader with floral tributes at his statue at Rajiv Chowk in Chhota Shimla, commemorating the day as Sadbhavana Diwas across the state.
In addition to the tributes, CM Sukhu administered the Sadbhavana Diwas pledge to the officers and officials of the HP Secretariat. He highlighted Rajiv Gandhi's numerous reforms and initiatives aimed at fostering positive societal changes during his tenure as Prime Minister.
Reflecting on past milestones, the Himachal CM noted Rajiv Gandhi's pivotal role in empowering youth by lowering the voting age from 21 to 18 years, as well as his visionary efforts in propelling India to the forefront of the IT sector. Other dignitaries including Health Minister Dr. Dhani Ram Shandil and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who paid homage online, echoed these sentiments, lauding Rajiv Gandhi's enduring legacy.
