Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has extolled Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, calling him the best chief minister in the country. During an event on Sunday, Maurya stated that the 'double-engine' government in Uttar Pradesh is setting the bar for exemplary governance in the nation.

'People know and believe that our double-engine government is performing the best work since Independence,' Maurya declared. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the most influential global leader and highlighted Adityanath's leadership as unparalleled in India.

Maurya's remarks come shortly after opposition speculated internal rifts within the BJP post the Lok Sabha elections. In July, the Deputy CM's office quoted Maurya, emphasizing the importance of the organization over individual roles. The comment surfaced after Maurya met with BJP President JP Nadda and Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief Bhupender Chaudhary in Delhi. Despite losing the 2022 Assembly election, Maurya continues to serve as Deputy CM in his second term and was later elected to the Legislative Council.
