The Gujarat Congress on Friday initiated a 14-day 'Nyay Yatra', aimed at securing justice for the victims of four major tragedies that occurred in the BJP-ruled state over the past five years.
Party leaders accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of protecting those responsible for incidents such as the recent Rajkot game zone fire.
The campaign, launched by Congress Legislative Party leader Amit Chavda, Seva Dal president Lalji Desai, and MLA Jignesh Mevani, will span nearly 350 kilometers, ending in Gandhinagar on August 23. Family members of victims from the Surat fire, Morbi bridge collapse, Vadodara boat capsizing, and Rajkot game zone fire will participate.
Mevani stressed that rampant corruption under the BJP resulted in almost 200 deaths. He called for CBI investigations and fast-track courts to ensure justice for the victims.
