The opposition BJP and JD(S) extended their protest march from Bengaluru to Mysuru for the second day, condemning the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam and challenging the Congress government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The 'Mysuru Chalo padayatre,' targeting alleged fraudulent site allocations, including to Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi, seeks the CM's resignation.
BJP State President B Y Vijayendra, JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, and other prominent figures joined the march, which covered distances from Bidadi to Kengal. Marchers, carrying party flags and placards, voiced slogans against the Congress amidst drum beats and decorations along the route.
Vijayendra accused the Congress of corrupt practices and looting public funds, alleging that the ruling party is shaken by the protest. Kumaraswamy echoed these sentiments, stressing that the opposition stands against the misuse of power for personal gain. The Congress, in return, has organized public meetings to counter the march.
