Israeli Military Confirms Elimination of Hamas' Military Wing Leader Mohammed Deif

The Israeli military has confirmed the death of Mohammed Deif, head of Hamas' military wing, in a Gaza airstrike in July.

Deif was targeted in a July 13 attack on a compound near Khan Younis, Gaza, resulting in over 90 casualties, including displaced civilians. Initial reports had not confirmed his death.

An Israeli military statement on Thursday affirmed Deif's elimination after an intelligence assessment. As a founding leader of the Qassam Brigades, Deif orchestrated numerous attacks on Israelis and built a significant rocket arsenal.
