In Ohio's political arena, Republican Lt. Gov. Jon Husted has amassed more than USD 5 million for his 2026 gubernatorial campaign, campaign finance reports reveal.

Husted's contributions, totaling USD 1.7 million from February 1 to July 31, have set a new fundraising benchmark at this stage. Similarly, Republican Attorney General Dave Yost has raised USD 354,000 in the same period, bringing his funds to USD 1.5 million.

Both Husted and Yost are positioning themselves for the governor's race as current GOP Governor Mike DeWine faces term limits in 2026. Their political ambitions could shape Ohio's future leadership landscape significantly.
