Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal lashed out at chief ministers from opposition-governed states who skipped the NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday, calling it an injustice to their people.
Addressing the press, Goyal emphasized that these CMs missed a crucial opportunity to question the government. 'NITI Aayog belongs to all,' he said, urging the opposition to introspect.
Chief Ministers from opposition parties, including Tamil Nadu's Stalin, Kerala's Vijayan, and West Bengal's Banerjee, skipped or walked out of the meeting, criticizing the Union Budget for ignoring their states. Goyal defended the budget, calling it a step towards continuity.
Goyal also addressed accusations by NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He accused the UPA government of conspiring against Shah and Modi, leading to false charges that were ultimately dismissed by the Supreme Court. He called for Pawar to apologize for these allegations.
