Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was notably absent from Saturday's Niti Aayog meeting in New Delhi, officials confirmed.

Representation for the state fell to deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha. Reasons for Kumar's absence remain unspecified.

"This is not the first time the CM has missed the meeting. Previously, Bihar was represented by the then deputy CM," JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar told PTI.

Besides the deputy CMs, four Union ministers from Bihar are members of the Aayog and participated in the meeting. The discussion centered on the 'Vikshit Bharat@2047' document, aiming to make India a developed nation by 2047.
