Youth Congress Protests 'Kursi Bachao Budget'

On Friday, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), the youthful arm of the Congress party, staged a demonstration in central Delhi, condemning the budget as a 'kursi bachao budget'. The protest unfolded at the IYC headquarters near Shastri Bhawan, featuring vocal slogans against the government. In a dramatic gesture, one protester donned a face mask resembling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was perched on a chair, symbolically carried by others.

A day earlier, the opposition had intensified its critique in Parliament during the budget discussions, contending that the allocations appeared to be a gratitude letter to NDA allies. However, the BJP defended the budget, asserting it would create jobs and support India's comprehensive development goals.

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, slammed the budget on Wednesday, describing it as an assault on the integrity of India's federal structure. India bloc MPs organized a protest within Parliament premises, decrying alleged bias against states governed by opposition parties. Gandhi shared a protest image on his WhatsApp channel, highlighting the unified stance against the NDA's 'Kursi Bachao Budget'.
