The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab on Thursday announced the appointment of in-charges and co-in-charges for four assembly constituencies where by-elections are imminent.

Cabinet minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and party MLA Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi have been designated as the in-charge and co-in-charge, respectively, for the Dera Baba Nanak constituency. This seat became vacant after Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency.

For the Gidderbaha assembly seat, Cabinet minister Aman Arora has been named as the in-charge, while MLA Davinder Singh Ladi Dhose will serve as the co-in-charge. The by-election here was required after sitting MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Warring won a seat in the Ludhiana Lok Sabha.

In the Chabbewal constituency, Cabinet minister Harjot Bains will serve as the in-charge, with MLA Karambir Singh Ghuman appointed as the co-in-charge. This seat was vacated by Raj Kumar Chabbewal after his election to the Lok Sabha from Hoshiarpur.

Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer is now the AAP in-charge for the Barnala assembly segment, with minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra as the co-in-charge. The Barnala seat was vacated after sitting MLA Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer was elected to the Lok Sabha from Sangrur.
