Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has sharply criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party over the Union Budget presented on Tuesday, describing it as an assault on India's federal structure. 'This budget is an attack on the dignity of India's federal structure—there is neglect and discrimination against various states in a bid to save power,' Gandhi posted on Facebook.

The Congress MP joined an INDIA bloc protest against the Budget at the Parliament complex on Friday. 'Today, INDIA bloc MPs protested against NDA's 'Kursi Bachao Budget' on the premises of Parliament House,' Gandhi stated, adding, 'INDIA will persist in raising its voice for ensuring equal justice for every state in India.'

Speaking on the opposition's protest at Parliament, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that the Union Budget is detrimental to farmers, the poor, and the middle class, as well as inimical to the federal structure. 'The BJP government's budget is against farmers, the poor, and especially the middle class. It discriminates against states, opposing the country's federal structure,' Priyanka posted on 'X'.

The Congress leader assured that the opposition bloc would continue to raise the people's voices. 'The INDIA alliance will robustly fight every injustice done to the people and will keep raising their voices. Today, opposition MPs protested in the Parliament premises against this injustice,' Priyanka Gandhi asserted.

Opposition INDIA bloc MPs held a demonstration in the Parliament complex on Wednesday, objecting to the Union Budget. Slogans such as 'Opposition virodhi kursi bachao Budget murda baad' were raised by INDIA bloc leaders as they protested with placards, claiming the Budget is discriminatory.

Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Party General Secretary KC Venugopal, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, and TMC MP Dola Sen participated in the protest. 'This is a deceitful Budget and an injustice,' Congress Chief Kharge told reporters. 'This budget aims only to satisfy their allies without offering substantial benefits,' he added.
