Several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and workers joined the Congress in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, strengthening the party's presence in the state.
AAP and Congress are alliance partners in the opposition INDIA bloc. The defection marks a significant political shift in the district.
AAP's former Tikamgarh district president Jitendra Jain, along with other party office-bearers and workers, officially joined the Congress at Indira Bhawan, the party's state headquarters. Rajiv Singh, Vice-President of MP Congress Committee, announced the move. State Congress President Jitu Patwari was present to welcome them.
