Speaking at a mega Martyrs' Day rally organized by the TMC, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav declared that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre would not endure for long. He emphasized that 'communal forces' might attain temporary success but would ultimately be vanquished.
Yadav addressed the rally, stating, 'Those who have come to power are guests for just a few days. This government at the Centre won't last long and will fall soon. Such communal forces want to be in power at any cost, but those designs won't succeed,' he said, refraining from directly naming the BJP or NDA.
Continuing his speech, the SP leader claimed that the 'communal forces at the Centre' are 'hatching conspiracies and trying to destabilize the country. The forces which want to divide the nation on communal lines may taste temporary success, but they will be defeated in the end,' he added.
Yadav highlighted the Samajwadi Party's recent electoral success, having won 37 Lok Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh, a significant increase from the five seats it secured in 2019, and noted that the SP, along with Congress, claimed 43 seats.
Praising West Bengal's leadership under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Yadav said, 'West Bengal, under Didi's leadership, fought against divisive forces. Bengal defeated them, and Uttar Pradesh too joined in this fight.' He called for unity to safeguard the Constitution and country, emphasizing, 'We believe in positive politics. The time has come for a change in people's lives. We all have to be united to save the Constitution and the country.'
Earlier in the day, Yadav met with Mamata Banerjee at her Kolkata residence, where they discussed the current political scenario in the country, according to TMC sources. Banerjee also expressed gratitude to Yadav for attending the event during the rally.
