Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has taken decisive action in the wake of the party's disappointing results in Odisha's recent elections. On Sunday, Kharge approved the complete dissolution of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), disbanding all its structures and leadership positions. This significant move affects the President, PCC members, office bearers, and several organizational committees and cells across the state.
A party statement confirmed this development, specifying that current District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents would serve as interim leaders until new appointments are made. The decision is aimed at revamping the party's structure in Odisha to better prepare for future challenges.
Sarat Pattanayak, the outgoing Odisha PCC president, had helmed the now-dissolved committee. The upcoming reorganization is expected to be a crucial step in the party's strategy to regain a foothold in the state.
