Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is recovering as expected after surviving an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on July 13. A former physician to Trump has confirmed his recovery in a memorandum.

Trump, 78, was shot during a campaign rally by a young shooter, resulting in an injury to his right ear, and leaving one rally attendee dead and two others in serious condition. The Secret Service shot and killed the 20-year-old suspect.

Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, Trump's former appointed physician, expressed deep concern for Trump's well-being and has been personally overseeing his treatment. Jackson praised the medical staff at Butler Memorial Hospital for their initial care, and confirmed Trump is progressively healing, with the wound showing positive signs of recovery.
