Donald Trump, the U.S. Republican presidential nominee, announced on Truth Social that he had a 'very good call' with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Trump pledged to negotiate an end to the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow, should he win the November 5 election.

Zelenskiy, in his social media post, thanked Trump for the U.S. military assistance but made no mention of efforts to end the ongoing 28-month conflict. Trump claimed that, had he been in office when Russia's invasion began in February 2022, the war would never have occurred.

Trump emphasized his commitment to global peace and vowed to bring both sides together for negotiations. However, Zelenskiy reiterated his stance against any negotiations with Russia while their troops remain in Ukraine. He also highlighted the vital U.S. support in Ukraine's defense against ongoing Russian aggression.
