Top Democrats Urge Biden to Reconsider Reelection Bid
Top Democratic leaders, including Senate Leader Chuck Schumer and House Leader Hakeem Jeffries, are advising President Joe Biden to end his reelection campaign. Biden, however, remains firm on his decision to run, despite increasing opposition from within his party following a recent debate performance.
Top Democratic leaders are urging President Joe Biden to end his reelection campaign, according to an ABC News report citing Senate leader Chuck Schumer and House leader Hakeem Jeffries. Schumer's office has dismissed the report as speculation, while Jeffries' office has yet to respond to requests for comment.
Despite facing mounting calls from Democrats to step down, Biden remains defiant, reaffirming his plans to win the election. White House spokesperson Andrew Bates quoted Biden as saying he looks forward to working with party leaders to advance his agenda for working families.
Adding to the pressure, Democratic Representative Adam Schiff publicly joined the chorus asking Biden to reconsider his campaign, making him the 20th congressional Democrat to do so.
