Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai on Monday reiterated his demand that the Tamil Nadu government issue a white paper on medical admissions pre and post NEET. He claimed that the central qualifying test is beneficial to the poorer sections of society.

The ruling DMK continues to politicize the issue of the National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET) and BJP remains vocal that NEET is necessary, Annamalai told reporters.

This year, Tamil Nadu recorded its highest performance in NEET with a 59 percent pass rate. The National Testing Agency (NTA) oversees NEET, and the Supreme Court is examining potential issues with the test, he noted.

He also mentioned that the NEET question paper was 'localized' and that action was being taken. Additionally, he spotlighted the ruling DMK for continuing to politicize NEET.

Annamalai demanded the release of a white paper on how many government school students have joined government medical colleges before and after NEET. He stated that the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has this data, and it would show that NEET is beneficial for poor and middle classes.

On another front, Annamalai reiterated his call for a CBI probe into the recent killing of K Armstrong, insisting that those who hired the henchmen must be identified.
