West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has strongly criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government for its financial management, alleging significant loopholes and fund diversion. In an interview with ANI, Bose expressed his constitutional duty to ensure the government operates within the framework of the Indian Constitution.

"I find that there are a lot of loopholes in the financial management of West Bengal. This analysis is based on the findings of competent authorities like the Reserve Bank of India and the Comptroller and Auditor General," said Bose. He further stated that funds intended for poverty alleviation are being misused, calling it a "financial meltdown."

Last month, the Governor described the Union Budget 2024-25 as pro-people, urging the Bengal government to utilize the allocated funds effectively. "This Union Budget has come as a boon for West Bengal. It is a golden opportunity for the state to use these funds without diverting them for unauthorized purposes," he added.
