Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed deep concern over the attack on former US President Donald Trump, stating that violence has no place in politics and democracies.

Trump's campaign reported that he is "doing well" after an assassination attempt during his election rally in Pennsylvania.

Modi conveyed his sentiments on X, saying, ''Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump. Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies. Wish him a speedy recovery.'' He also extended his thoughts and prayers to the family of the deceased, the injured, and the American people.

Trump was injured during the rally when a suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside the rally venue in Butler, as reported by the US Secret Service.
