Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, will hold a campaign rally near Pittsburgh in the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania on Saturday. Suspense is mounting over his selection for a vice presidential running mate, which he is expected to announce shortly before or during the Republican Party's national convention starting Monday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In an interview on the 'The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show,' Trump mentioned Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott as potential contenders. He likened the process to a 'highly sophisticated version of 'The Apprentice,'' the reality TV show that heightened his popularity.

Supporters, like Chris Miller, are speculating about Trump's choices. Miller, 63, favors Scott and Rubio but is less familiar with Vance and Burgum, questioning Rubio's consistency. The rally also comes amid Democratic turmoil, with calls for the 81-year-old President Joe Biden to step down after a faltering debate performance.

Trump's rally at the Butler Farm Show Grounds underscores Pennsylvania's significance, a state he won in 2016 but lost in 2020. Both Trump and Biden are heavily focusing their campaign efforts on Pennsylvania. Trump intends to address key issues such as inflation and crime, which he attributes to Biden's administration.

On Sunday, Biden campaigned in Philadelphia and Harrisburg, while Trump aims to solidify his support base. The former president's VP decision remains eagerly anticipated, though some, like Republican consultant Christopher Nicholas, believe the announcement may not occur at this rally, as Trump reportedly keeps this decision closely guarded.
