India and Austria on Wednesday advocated for collective efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict in alignment with international law and the UN Charter. Following their talks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer issued a joint statement underscoring the necessity for democratic nations, namely India and Austria, to collaborate in fostering international and regional peace and prosperity.

Prime Minister Modi's visit to Vienna, following discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, reinforced India's stance that 'this is not the time for war,' encouraging diplomatic dialogue for the restoration of peace and stability.
