Nigel Farage finally succeeded in winning a parliamentary seat on his eighth attempt, emerging victorious in Clacton. His hardline rightwing party, Reform UK, clinched four seats in the UK general election, media reports revealed on Friday.

The 60-year-old Farage defeated the Conservative candidate, Giles Watling, who had represented the coastal constituency in Essex since 2017, The Guardian reported.

Farage garnered 21,225 votes compared to Watling's 12,820, winning by a margin of 8,405 votes. Clacton was seen as Reform UK's best chance, having previously elected a UK Independence Party MP in 2015.

After his victory, Farage declared his intention to target the Labour Party, which achieved a landslide majority, and criticized the Conservative Party.

"We are coming for Labour … be in no doubt about that," he announced at a leisure centre in Clacton.

Basking in the Conservatives' defeat, Farage described the party as a "broad church with no shared religion." He dismissed the idea of working with the Conservative Party in Parliament but invited Tory MPs to join Reform UK.

Regarding his ambitions to become prime minister, Farage said, "Whatever happens, happens, and probably by 2029 this movement will have found someone younger and better looking than me."
