Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who had pledged to wear a turban until Nitish Kumar resigned as chief minister, fulfilled his vow by removing his headwear, shaving his head, and taking a bath in the Saryu River on Wednesday.

Chaudhary's resolution was realized in January after Nitish Kumar resigned from the chief ministerial post of the Mahagathbandhan and rejoined the BJP-led NDA as chief minister.

"Our aim was to have Nitish Kumar resign from the position of Bihar's chief minister. With this accomplished, I have removed my turban. The resolution was met on January 28 as Nitish Kumar left the INDIA bloc and rejoined us," Chaudhary said. During his visit to Ayodhya, Chaudhary, alongside Bihar ministers and party officials, offered prayers at the Hanumangarhi temple and Ram Janmabhoomi after bathing in the Saryu River.
