Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday labeled the Congress and the INDIA bloc 'anti-reservation', asserting that the BJP supported the caste survey exercise in the state.

Addressing reporters in Gwalior, Choudhary stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would make an appropriate decision regarding the caste census. 'The BJP had backed the caste census in Bihar and is not opposed to it. Home Minister Amit Shah has also indicated support. The Prime Minister will decide appropriately,' he remarked.

When questioned about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's comments on NEET paper 'leaks' and reservations, Choudhary criticised Gandhi, citing historical opposition of Congress to reservation policies initiated by BR Ambedkar. Highlighting the BJP's consistent support for reservations for Dalits and tribals, he added that even BJP founders had endorsed such measures.

Choudhary acknowledged that although reservations are in place, poverty remains a significant issue, and assured that PM Modi is striving to address it. He also announced plans to remove his turban at the Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya, fulfilling a personal pledge he made while in the Opposition.
