Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail, has shed eight kilograms since his arrest on March 21, according to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The Delhi High Court has temporarily stayed the bail granted to Kejriwal by a trial court in connection with a money-laundering case related to the now-scrapped excise policy of his government.
A medical board at AIIMS has recommended adding paratha and puri to his diet to address his weight loss, which has dropped from 70 kg to 62 kg as of June 22. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has conducted some blood tests, although tests for heart ailments and cancer remain pending.
The AAP stated that Kejriwal's weight loss is of significant concern, and earlier medical advice from Max Hospital suggested further tests. While the Supreme Court had granted interim bail for 21 days to Kejriwal to campaign for the Lok Sabha polls, it has denied an extension beyond the initial period.
