Tensions Escalate: Israel Warns of Strikes Near Tyre Amid Clashes with Hezbollah
The Israeli military has issued an evacuation warning for residents in Tyre, Lebanon, as tensions with Hezbollah surge. Despite intercepting projectiles from Lebanon, Israel's strikes continue, as Hezbollah remains defiant over disarmament. The conflict sees Iran demanding a ceasefire as a precursor to US peace talks.
The Israeli military has issued a warning urging residents of Tyre, a city in southern Lebanon, and its surrounding areas to evacuate due to potential military strikes amid ongoing clashes with Hezbollah.
Two projectiles were intercepted by Israel, reportedly launched from Lebanon, though Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for the attack. This escalation comes as Hezbollah resists demands for its disarmament, insisting Israel first cease its assaults and withdraw forces from southern Lebanon.
Iran, an ally to Hezbollah, is insisting on a ceasefire in Lebanon as a condition for any potential peace agreement with the United States. Despite a previous U.S.-brokered ceasefire in November 2024, Israel maintains that its operations target Hezbollah infrastructure and members.
