Tragic Excavation Mishap Sparks Outrage in Maharashtra Village

A tragic accident occurred in Pangri village, Beed district, when a Poclain machine inadvertently struck two individuals during a well excavation operation. The victims, identified as Ganesh Jagtap (34) and Bharat Rathod (35), fell into the well, resulting in their unfortunate deaths.
Police reported that the incident transpired as the two men observed the ongoing excavation work. They were standing precariously close to the well's edge when the excavator's moving arm hit them, causing them to plunge into the water below. Efforts to rescue them were made, but both succumbed to their injuries en route to medical facilities.
The mishap sparked anger among local residents, who accused the Poclain machine's owner and driver of negligence. Villagers and bereaved family members staged a protest at the Georai police station, demanding arrests and a criminal case. Authorities have begun the process of registering an FIR and are actively investigating the incident.
