The Calcutta High Court has instructed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit the case diary first compiled by the Kolkata Police in the investigation of the rape-murder of an on-duty doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

A single-judge bench, led by Justice Tirthankar Ghosh, has scheduled the next hearing for April 23, at which the CBI must also present a list of individuals interviewed. In a sealed status report, the CBI detailed its ongoing investigation into the crime.

Despite discovering inconsistencies between various reports, the agency continues to explore potential conspiracies and obstructions in the case, while also seeking an enhancement of the sentence of convicted individual Sanjay Roy.
