The meeting seeks to enhance peace and stability, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

In a significant diplomatic move, China and Bangladesh have solidified their partnership by signing nine key agreements after Muhammad Yunus' discussion with President Xi Jinping. The accords encompass fields such as economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and healthcare improvements, paving the way for strengthened bilateral relations.
Yunus, who recently assumed the role of Bangladesh's Chief Advisor, highlighted the critical impact of last year's student protests that catalyzed political change in Dhaka, urging China to contribute actively towards establishing peace and stability in the region. The conversation coincides with the 50th anniversary of China-Bangladesh diplomatic ties, symbolizing a new chapter in their collaboration.
Furthermore, the agreements extend to areas including hydrological data sharing, flood management, and water resource development. During Yunus' visit, he also called for reduced interest rates on Chinese loans, illustrating Bangladesh's intent to fortify economic ties amid a shifting geopolitical landscape.
