Justice B R Gavai addressed a gathering organized by the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association, marking 75 years of the Indian Constitution. He lauded the Supreme Court's efforts in expanding Article 21, ensuring rights like dignity, privacy, and freedom from wrongful detention remain protected, illustrating citizens' enduring trust in the judiciary.

Gavai cited landmark judgments, such as the Kesavananda Bharati and Minerva Mills cases, underscoring the court's role in maintaining a harmonious balance within the Constitution's framework. He asserted that this judicial vigilance is key to upholding democratic values and the rule of law, which form the bedrock of Indian society.

The event, attended by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and other legal luminaries, also celebrated the launch of SCAORA's e-journal and website. This initiative aims to enhance the dissemination of legal knowledge, fostering meaningful dialogue within the legal community.
