A police team spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) visited Justice Yashwant Varma's residence following the discovery of a substantial amount of cash on the premises.
The inquiry, involving a six-member team, is part of a larger in-house probe initiated by the Chief Justice of India. A deeper investigation is underway after semi-burnt sacks of currency were found post-fire incident at the Lutyens home.
Justice Varma, who was away in Madhya Pradesh during the discovery, denies any association with the cash. The authorities have scrutinized CCTV footage and questioned staff to decipher the sequence of events.
