Uttar Pradesh's Minority Welfare Minister, Danish Azad Ansari, introduced the BJP's 'Saugat-e-Modi' initiative—distributing Eid kits to the Pasmanda Muslim community, containing edibles and clothing. This effort marks the first significant governmental outreach to these marginalized minorities ahead of the Eid festivities.
Describing the components of the Eid kits, Ansari mentioned they include items such as vermicelli, dates, dry fruits, and sugar, alongside salwar-suit cloth for women. The distribution is progressing in several districts, notably Sambhal, known for past communal tensions.
The initiative, perceived as a move to enhance minority relations, received praise from clerical leaders like Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, who commended it as a step toward fostering communal harmony and countering divisive politics.
