Nirbhaya Fund: Empowering Women's Safety Initiatives

The Nirbhaya Fund, a crucial initiative for women's safety, has not been discontinued, the government confirmed in the Rajya Sabha.
Answering queries during the Question Hour, Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi stated that 49 schemes operate under this fund, including one-stop centers assisting women facing violence.
For the fiscal year 2024-25, Rs 7,713 crore was allocated, with 76% already spent. The fund functions on a demand-driven basis, aiming to enhance security measures for women across various sectors.
